Integrated social media

I am intrigued about the idea of “integrated social media” and how it “plugs into your business.” I recently started reading the course book “Social Media RIO” by Olivier Blanchard and it states, “The reality of social media is that it isn’t an add-on. It is 100% an integration piece.”
“Your business doesn’t plug into social media. Social media plugs into your business.”  In my opinion, that means a team effort, across the entire company. Social media is a channel to communicate to your audience.
I am curious to know how organizations work closely with the PR team and how they are working together on driving a social media program. Post a comment I would love to know!
