Our assignment this week is to discuss the changes that a PR professional might have to consider when creating their communications strategies because of social media.
The classroom discussions have been insightful so far and I really like this approach with this first assignment with a lot of great ideas and suggestions! As a first time blogger and novice learner of social media, I have been doing a lot of reading and am subscribed to get email updates from a couple of the industry leaders like Deirdre Breakenridge and Brian Solis.
Just yesterday I got an email showcasing Deirdre Breakenridge as a key note speaker at The Social Conference being held February 9 who is expected to speak about “Eight New Strategic Practices for the PR Professional, which focuses on shifting the PR mindset to create more efficient processes and internal collaboration, increased guidance of new media communications, stronger connections with customers by analyzing and engaging in relationships, and the better use of technology during the PR planning process.”
Check out her video that focuses on “hot” topics in PR and how professionals are taking on new roles and responsibilities.
